Here is a list of things you may not have known about the Grids & Backgrounds & Editing Plane Settings in ArchiCAD:
- You can have separate Editing Plane & Grid settings in Document (plan, section, elevation..) and 3D Windows. To access the settings, simply go to the floor plan or 3D window and select View > Grid & Editing Plane Options > Grids & Backgrounds.
- You can set the editing plane to show at all times, or only when performing an edit or element selection in the Options > Work Environment > On Screen View Options settings.
- There is a quick toggle for turning the 3D Windows Grid Editing Plane on/off in the View Menu
- You can temporarily relocate or reposition the editing plane. It’s default is to Project 0, but it can be repositioned to a specific plane or story or even snapped to a vertical or sloped surface! There are settings for the Editing Plane under View > Grid & Editing Plane Options or click the tiled handle in the corner of the editing plane in the 3d window.
